Light Control and LEED
Our speaker this month is Christ
Surunis, CSI, an educator with Lutron Electronics and the Lighting
Controls Institute. He has worked as a specialist in the field
of light controls since 2001. Prior to 2001, Christ worked in
various roles, markets and projects over 18 years as a certified
commercial interior designer, placing emphasis on both electric
and daylight contribution and management as influencing factors
in good design. Christ (pronounced “Chris”) will
be reviewing various credit categories of Leadership in Energy
and
Environmental Design (LEEDtm) and comparing
the current 2009 and previous version 2.2 version. He will help
us understand the potential of light controls to contribute
to LEED. He will discuss how light control acts as a useful
tool and the manufacturer a team member effectively contributing
towards LEED certification in new construction and major renovations.
You will get 1.0 AIA Learning Unit for this
presentation.

Inn.
The Washington Inn is about a block from the
Oakland 12th Street City Center BART Station. From BART, take
the exit closest to the Bay (that is, at 11th Street and Broadway).
The Inn is at the corner of Washington and 10th (across the
street from the Marriott Hotel/Oakland Convention Center). There
is street parking, and there is a parking garage at the Convention
Center
